Shattered by Cynthia Eden
This was my first read by Cynthia Eden and thought it was really good. I thought it was very well written and had good clarity as to what was going on throughout the story, as well as picturing the scenes as I read. I didn’t like the fact it was told from 3rd person I felt like, it would of been better as dual point of views from Sarah and Jax, I thought it would make the story more complex, suspenseful and in depth. More importantly I felt like that was would be more engaging with the characters to readers, and more insight. But other than that I did like the story a lot.
So Sarah is a criminal psychologist, and Jax is a very hot bad boy. They first meet in New Orleans. Jax and Sarah doesn’t come off so friendly and butt heads. But it’s obvious they have chemistry. And a whole lot of sexual tension.
So Jax comes to Sarah to hire her and her team l.o.s.t to help him uncover his past when he was a little boy, to help him find his parents. And what exactly happened that he can’t remember. Sarah has quiet a past herself. They both have darks pasts, they hide them on a daily basis, and surround themselves by thick walls. But to their demise they relate to a lot of things and with each others help those walls comes down.
To twist things up there’s a serial killer after them which was from Sarah’s fathers past. And on top of that Sarah gets attacked but of course Jax comes to her rescue!!
I did love the fact that since it was written in 3rd person you can see how the serial killer thought, which he was very clever one, always a step ahead. I liked being inside his deepest thoughts. But over all I did like Sarah and Jax’s character and story line. The plot twists and story line, didn’t disappoint and left me on the edge of my seat. I was like gotta know , and kept going. It’s something I would recommend.
