Say My Name is J. Kenner’s first book in the Stark International Trilogy and was my first J. Kenner book to read. I must say I absolutely loved everything about it and can’t wait to read the next one. The author has very strong characters with extremely complicated and intricate stories. J. Kenner’s writing is flawless, fluid, and has so many twists and turns I was a tiny bit dizzy, in a fantastic way!
Sylvia Brooks, is a woman that has been abused, beaten down, and treated like a piece of garbage. The people who should have loved and cared about her couldn’t even protect her. She has spent so many years running and trying desperately to hide from the pain of her past, she doesn’t know what it means to be grounded. Five years ago, she made the one person who could have given it all to her walk away, and she hasn’t ever really recuperated from the deep loss. She is a perfect of example of trying to fake it until you make it. She is now the executive assistant for Damian Stark “one of the world’s wealthiest and most powerful men.” She is looking to move up the ranks and is working on a new project she put together for Stark International. When her project takes an unexpected turn and is on the brink of being shutdown, she never expects that the one person who could save it is the only man she ever could have loved. “I have to keep this project alive. And, dammit, I will keep it alive. Even if that means approaching the one man I swore I would never see again.”
Jackson Steele, a brilliant architect, is a confident, commanding, high profile man with the looks of a god. “Those crystalline blue eyes. That wide, gorgeous mouth. Can Jackson, help Sylvia overcome her fears and regain control of her life? What will happen when Sylvia discovers Jackson’s biggest secret? Can these two make it work and find happiness or are they destined to become the rubble of a bulldozed building?
