Cherished by You is the 4th book in the Love in the City series, written by Steph Nuss. This book tells the story of Tessa Wilder and Justin Jameson. Tessa is a receptionist who has been raising her brother, Trey, since they lost their parents when they were teenagers. Justin Jameson is a psychology professor at NYU, and he and Tessa have been friends for a long time. What Justin doesn’t realize is that Tessa has had a crush on him for a long time, but she has never let him know her true feelings for him. Justin is a quiet, introverted guy who has had bad luck with women in the past. When Tessa’s brother tells her that he would like to get a place of his own, Tessa offers him their rent-controlled apartment, but then she realizes how hard it’s going to be finding a place she can afford. When Justin hears about her predicament, he offers her the spare room in his apartment. Tessa is reluctant at first, knowing how she feels about him, but finally agrees to move in with him. Tessa is determined that Justin not realize her feelings for him, and so she signs up for an online dating service, and goes on several very bad dates. When Justin comes in to comfort her after one especially bad date, they come to realize how much they’ve grown to care for each other. This is such a sweet, sexy, funny love story, that will pull at your heartstrings. Justin, Tessa, and Trey are all very well-written characters, and you will find yourself cheering for them. I haven’t read the other books in this series, but this book will stand on its own. However, after reading this one, you might find that you want to go back and read the others, like I do!
