On My Knees by J. Kenner is the 2nd book in the Stark International series and picks up where Say My Name ended. This book focuses a little more on Jackson’s story and as the story progresses you learn what makes Jackson, Jackson. First and foremost I will say forget that other erotic book everyone is talking about because this story is HOT! J. Kenner writes a story that has a cohesive storyline, sex, bondage, love, passion, suspense, twists, turns, and is highly erotic. You will find yourself engulfed in the passion between Jackson and Sylvia, sometimes your own toes will curl and you will have to reposition yourself. It’s not just about the sex it’s about two people each fighting to get control of their lives and discovering that sometimes you have to give up control to actually be in control.
Jackson has always dealt with the struggles in his life by physically fighting, beating up objects and people. Now, just like Sylvia, he’s also running. When Sylvia is faced with the choice to fire Jackson from an important project she’s afraid of what it will do to him and them. Her fears are realized when all of a sudden she is all over the news and photos from her “modeling” days begin to surface. She’s not the only one with a secret and the more she is with Jackson, the more secrets she begins to uncover. How can Jackson expect to know her secrets but never share his own? What does that say about their relationship if he isn’t willing to share?
As they navigate through their struggles it seems to be one step forward two steps back. Just as one problem seems to be dealt with another one arises. In the middle of all the chaos they are still trying to get their project off the ground, but someone seems to be sabotaging them from the inside. Is Damien, leaking information to get back at Jackson? Can they put their past and their differences aside? What happens when Jackson realizes not everything is as it seems or he was led to believe?
Jackson is determined to be there for Sylvia and when she is at her worst, about to break, about to lose all control, time and again it is Jackson’s hand that reaches out to her. He shows up at just the right moment and just like Sylvia, the reader breathes a sigh of relief. You want to scream out, yes! Only, nothing could prepare them for the most shocking obstacle they are about to face. Will this finally be the one that tears them apart, with no turning back? Has Jackson finally gone too far in his quest to be there and protect Sylvia? Has he ruined any chance they had at a future and what will happen to the other people now in his life? Stay tuned for the final book in this trilogy “Under My Skin” which is supposed to come out in September. I know I will be on pins and needles waiting to find out how it all concludes. I have no doubt that J. Kenner won’t let me down.
