Review ~ Taming the Country Star by Margo Bond Collins

Taming the Country Star: A Hometown Heroes Novella (Hometown Heroes, #1)Taming the Country Star: A Hometown Heroes Novella by Margo Bond Collins

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Taming the Country Star by Margo Bond Collins is the first book in her Hometown Heroes series and the only thing I didn’t like about it was I wanted MORE!

Kylie Andrews grew up with a father in the spotlight and saw how it destroyed her family and her mother especially. She has vowed to never repeat the family history so while away on her non-honeymoon she is happy to meet a handsome stranger.
Cole is looking for some peace and quiet and is thrilled when he meets Kylie who doesn’t want to even know his last name, she just wants to have some fun. He is grateful that she is a woman who just wants to be with him to be with him.

They are having a magical time together that takes them on a whirlwind, but all good things must come to an end. When a secret comes out at the most inopportune time, it throws Kylie for a loop. She is horrified, sad, and angry and goes home as fast as she can.

Cole Grayson, it seems never forgot about her so when he comes to her hometown for business he hopes to find her. When they finally reconnect it is an explosion of emotions and Kylie still wants to run. Can she forgive him and accept his secret? Can Cole convince her that there is a way to have it all? These two each have the same desire but different needs and it may not be possible to get them to align.

Margo Bond Collins kept a steady pace throughout the book. She gave us strong characters who were very well developed but not too complex. She kept the writing fun and light-hearted and I loved all the different “jokes”. She is truly a talented writer.
